Pediatric CPR FAQ

Infant CPR (ages 0–12 months) uses two fingers for compressions at a depth of about 1.5 inches and a rate of 100–120 per minute. Child CPR (ages 1–8) uses one hand at a depth of about 2 inches. Rescue breathing ratios also differ. Our class covers both techniques with hands-on manikins sized for each age group.

Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification is valid for 2 years from the date of issue. We send email reminders 60 and 30 days before expiration so you can renew without a lapse in coverage.

Yes. Our Pediatric First Aid + CPR class meets Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) licensing requirements for daycare centers, home daycare providers, and preschool staff. You will receive a certification card accepted by DCFS inspectors.

Yes! We welcome nursing infants under 6 months. We understand that finding childcare can be hard, so we have a comfortable space where you can feed or soothe your baby during breaks. Please let us know when booking so we can reserve a spot.

Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED is designed for non-healthcare providers like parents, nannies, and daycare staff. BLS (Basic Life Support) is for healthcare professionals such as nurses and EMTs. If you are a parent or caregiver, Heartsaver is the right class for you.

Our Infant CPR Only class is $75, Pediatric First Aid + CPR is $145, and Family CPR & Safety (up to 4 people) is $195. Group discounts are available for daycares sending 5 or more staff members.
