ACLS Certification Course Content
The AHA ACLS Provider course covers the full spectrum of adult advanced cardiovascular life support skills.
Systematic Cardiovascular Assessment
Rapid evaluation of the critically ill cardiac patient using the systematic approach. Recognition of acute coronary syndromes, stroke, and cardiac arrest with immediate intervention pathways.
Airway Management & Ventilation
Advanced airway techniques including bag-mask ventilation, oral and nasopharyngeal airways, and supraglottic airway devices. Capnography interpretation and ventilation optimization during resuscitation.
Cardiac Arrest Algorithms
Evidence-based ACLS algorithms for VF/pVT, asystole, PEA, bradycardia, and tachycardia. High-quality CPR with proper team dynamics and role assignments during adult codes.
Vascular Access & Pharmacology
IV and IO access during resuscitation, and the pharmacology of ACLS drugs including epinephrine, amiodarone, atropine, adenosine, and vasopressors with correct dosing and timing.
Post-Cardiac Arrest Care
Post-ROSC management including targeted temperature management, hemodynamic optimization, neurologic assessment, ventilation strategies, and coronary reperfusion decisions.
Acute Stroke & ACS Management
Rapid stroke recognition using NIHSS, door-to-needle time goals, fibrinolytic therapy considerations, and acute coronary syndrome management including STEMI recognition and reperfusion pathways.
